Dogs on skis...

So. Run that by me again.

"You have to go to the last day of ski camp, tomorrow, dressed as a dog?" "Yes"

"You have to be able to ski while dressed as a dog?"

"Yes... actually, I want to go as a black Labrador"

I have to confess to feeling slightly relieved that, by being away from home for the build up to Christmas, we would also be missing three Nativities and the costumes required (as much as I love watching them and am always the first to shed a tear). Not a year goes by without some sort of Nativity based drama in our household. Many will remember the Pink King costume melt down of Year 2 followed by the Reluctant (scowling) Shepherd in his first nativity last year. This year... phew. No need for last minute panic outfit sorting, or re-sorting. But no. How wrong I was.

As we speak, Davey is fashioning some floppy dog ears and a tail from a big brown fluffy dressing gown we picked up for $5 on an emergency trip to the Re-use it centre this afternoon. The fact that we are going to be a brown Beagle rather than a black Labrador (there must've been a rush on the fluffy black dressing gowns) has been accepted graciously and providing the attachments are secure we will have two skiing dogs on the slopes tomorrow morning.
