The last of our guest 4@4 videos is from Christchurch with the lovely Lemon Family. We were welcomed with open arms by them and their friends who let us house sit and stay in some incredible places!
Christchurch took a hammering in 2011 leaving it almost completely unrecognisable in its post earthquake state. Six years on, as you walk around the city, there is still masses of rebuilding going on. The stories from some of those caught up in the earthquake are truly terrifying and it's amazing more people weren't killed.
Despite the disaster you get a real sense of how the people of the city came together to carry on, as much as possible, with their normal lives and to rebuild what was lost. It leaves you feeling very positive about the City's future.
It also provided us with an endless supply of questions from the kids about earthquakes that was the basis for a lot of geography based home schooling.
We have loved catching up with wonderful friends on this trip. We feel very lucky to have such incredible people in our lives who we may not speak to for months or even years on end but then we can rock up on their door step and pick up where we left off.
Thank you all for putting up with the Watkins invasion and showing us your fantastic corners of the world.
