We have actually left the building. Driving past our house last night the lights were on and another family were settled in and enjoying their weeks holiday on the Gower. After several weeks of painting, mending, cleaning, clearing, packing and generally counting down, we have left our house for a summer of holiday lets then a long term let in the Autumn. It is good to know the house will be looked after. We are spending the first week of the holidays in a flat near home, catching up with people and enjoying this fantastic area we are lucky enough to call home, before heading West for a family holiday. Then we fly to Colombo. This is time for getting used to what lies ahead... getting used to hanging out and being together. As one of my great buddies said to me tonight on the phone... we are in the Green Room. Nearly ready to take the stage but not quite. We have already had those moments of madness. How is this going to work? What are we doing? Then tonight our eldest offered to settle down with Tom (4) and read him a story when we was feeling scared... and all the madness is forgotten. Oh... and Jinks has had his traditional summer holiday Mohawk already. We are ready. We can do this...
